The outdoor ceremony can take place any day of the week except Sunday.  The town hall visit is done Monday - Friday.  The exception to this is weddings for San Michele where the town hall can only be on Tuesdays & Thursdays and in Castellabate where the town hall is open on Saturdays.

US Citizens can get an expedited approval for a civil or non-catholic religious wedding. 

What is This Approval?

There is one jurisdiction in this region that make it exceptionally simple for American citizens to get approval to get married in Italy.  Slow Dreams will obtain the approval from the local jurisdiction  for you.   You must obtain approval from the American consulate in Naples and have this approval authenticated by a nearby Italian document authentication office.

THE TOTAL TIME FOR THIS IS AROUND TWO HOURS.

What is the TOTAL Process?

Simply come to the American consulate in Naples with your passports and original divorce papers (if any).  Two hours later you will be eligible to get married.  

Who Should Consider This "No-Hassle" Approval?

This package is suited for American citizens that  want one or more of the following:

• A  complete "no-hassle" wedding approval

• A last minute wedding in Italy (we need at least one week's notice, depending on availability of mayor, vendors, etc.). 

• Either or both of the couple have been divorced -  the translation of divorce documents can be expensive

• Either of the couple lives far from the nearest Italian consulate  -  the travel costs of the couple and witnesses can be quite expensive, especially in time.

Ceremonies can be civil or non-Catholic religious.  They can be at the town hall or in one of the three beautiful outdoor venues - see below.  Or, it can be held At the foot of the castle turrets.  See Castle.. It is also idea for couples on tours of Italy that want to break off their tour and get married quickly and resume their tour. 

• Expedited Paperwork - One jurisdiction (one hour south of Naples) that we deal with requires only a Nulla Osta from the Bride & the Groom.  This must be obtained from the American Consulate in Naples  and authenticated by the Italian government office (Prefettura) in Naples, Monday, Wednesday OR Thursday.  The Prefettura office closes at 12:00 noon.   The average time to get the Nulla Ostas and have them authenticated is around 2 hours.  NOTE:  Appointments MUST be made ahead of time for both the Bride & Groom at the American Consulate in Naples.. Try to make your appointment for 8 a.m. These need to be done Monday,  Wednesday or Thursday (except holidays).

• The issuance of the Nulla Ostas requires that the couple appear at the consulate with passports and divorce papers (if any).   

• This "No-Hassle" process eliminates the additional requirement of an Atto Notorio from the Italian consulate in the US.   This can be a very  time-consuming process,  and expensive if a previous divorce is involved.

• The mayor or minister will conduct, respectively,  outdoor civil or religious weddings at:

   

  • Villa Sirio -  an elegant villa hotel right on the sea 

  • L'Approdo - a resort hotel on the sea

  • Grand Hotel Santa Maria -  a four star hotel on the beach

  note:  three night minimum stays

   

• Services include:

  • Expedited Approval

  • Officiant (Mayor or Minister) to perform the ceremony

  • Transport for Officiant to get to site

  • Translator

  • Local Italian Witnesses

  • Permission to Marry Arrangements from the Town Hall

  • All taxes

  • Slow Dreams Event Manager to greet you at your accommodations, and escort you until the ceremony is over

  • A guide in Naples that will

  • meet you at your hotel
  • take you the American consulate
  • take you to the nearby government office (Prefettura)
  • take you to the train station to come down here, or to a car rental office, if you are driving.

THE FEE

TRAVEL EXPENSES

In addition to the fee above, couples must pay for the rabbi's travel and expenses to and from the ceremony and when appropriate, for overnight stay in a hotel. Travel expenses may include air fare or train fare (for ceremonies within Italy) as well as taxi fare to and from the airport/train station to the hotel and wedding venue.
